Work - Maternity leave & the return to work

Writer: Serena WilliamsSerena Williams

In a survey I conducted of over 50 career women, the feedback of this pivotal time in their lives was upsetting, unsettling and on occasion, infuriating.

Pregnancy in the workplace isn’t simply about making sure the chair is at the right height. Maternity leave isn’t solely having a ‘going on leave’ meal. Returning to work isn’t about taking all the projects back as if a woman has never been away. With my bump & glide ‘tool kit’ packages I offer employers and employees the tools and support they need to support one another during this transitional time. Employees obtain the support they need emotionally, physically and mentally and employers have an increased chance of retaining their staff following a first or subsequent maternity leave.
